This project involves members of the Centre in public interest litigation in the field of public law. This aspect of the work of the Centre may involve litigation in appellate courts in the fields of constitutional law, human rights and Indigenous legal issues. The management and selection of appropriate matters is undertaken in collaboration with other organisations, including other UNSW Faculty of Law Centres and the Public Interest Advocacy Centre.
The Centre's involvement in public interest litigation may be in the form of providing research or other support in ongoing matters for a party or an amicus curiae or intervener. See, on appearances as an amicus curiae or intervener, George Williams, 'The Amicus Curiae and Intervener in the High Court of Australia: A Comparative Analysis' (2000) 28 Federal Law Review 365.
